Forest Music

During the occupation always some music was played somewhere in the forest. Some sessions made it into the feature film, some didn´t. But were still amazing. Outstanding tunes from Dannenrod to watch and hear can be found on this page.

The occupation of Dannenrod Forest would not have worked without it´s creativity and tunes. Get into the music of the forest.

The days in the forest were still relatively peaceful. The activists had planted a small garden to grow vegetables. This was also a place for retreats, quiet talks and joyceful musicmaking. During a late morning breakfast MOGLI played the handpan.

Ding a Dong DONG DONG Klock klock dong DONG Dingadong

The night before DAY X, when the excavation was about to start was much different, from what I´ve expected. Instead of finishing barricades or being nervous and devastated, activists sat down on a platform and did an amazing music-session with candle-light. The performance of FINDUS made it into the documentary, here You´ll see and hear YODA. His voice and guitar, singing and playing Runaway from Aurora.

I was listenin' to the ocean I saw a face in the sand BUT WHEN I PICKED IT UP Then it vanished away from my hands, down

I had a dream I was seven Climbing my way in a tree I SAW A PIECE OF HEAVEN Waiting impatient for me, down

It was one of the last days of extraction, the very last barrio OBEN was surrounded by police, SEK and lifting platforms. In the structure of SCHWERTFISH they sang all day with improvised texts on popular tunes. And, finally, when the SEK was preparing to get the activists down, they just started to sing again this song.

I mean, what have you got to lose? You know, you come from nothing
You're going back to nothing What have you lost? NOTHING
